RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Ohio — Northeast Ohio received a special visit from Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine late Monday morning. It came as he dropped by Cuyahoga County to visit the Richmond Heights Secondary School.
During his time at the school, Gov. DeWine met with students, teachers and administrators to learn about the school’s Aviation Career Exploration Program for students in grades 7-12.
We streamed Gov. DeWine's entire visit to the school, which you can watch again in the player below:
Last week, Gov. DeWine and his wife, Fran, visited the Ohio National Guard members serving at the southern border in Texas.
"To the families of the national guard members, I just want to say thank you," DeWine said in a Facebook Live video at the border. "It's been a long year, but we appreciate your sacrifice and we appreciate the men and women who are down here making a difference at the southern border."
Gov. DeWine, meanwhile, announced the state’s Vax-2-School COVID vaccine incentive last month. It offers Ohioans the chance to win one of the following prizes for getting a COVID-19 vaccine:
- Five scholarships worth $100,000.
- 150 scholarships worth $10,000.
