Parma police: Inmate dies inside city's jail

Kevin Lowman, 29, had been arrested the day before and booked into the Parma Jail on charges of felony domestic violence and criminal damaging.

PARMA, Ohio — The Parma Police Department reports that an inmate inside of the city's jail died on Sunday night after being found unresponsive.

According to a release, at just after 10 p.m., a corrections officer found 29-year-old inmate Kevin Lowman unresponsive inside of his cell. Members of the corrections staff and police department performed life saving measures to Lowman until paramedics arrived at the scene. Lowman was pronounced dead at 10:31 p.m.

Lowman, a Parma resident, had been arrested the day before and booked into the Parma Jail on charges of felony domestic violence and criminal damaging. 

An autopsy will be performed by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office. The case remains under investigation.
