LAKEWOOD, Ohio — Several people have been taken to the hospital after a car crashed into a Lakewood taco restaurant patio Thursday afternoon.
Police tell 3News the 62-year-old driver from Stow was backing out of a nearby parking lot next door around 1:50 p.m. when she hit a wall and overcorrected, causing her vehicle to go through a fence and onto the outdoor seating area at Hola Tacos on Madison Avenue. Five people were taken from the scene via ambulance with minor injuries, with the worst for one victim appearing to be a concussion.
While authorities are still investigating, the owner of Hola believes the collision was an accident and officials say alcohol or drugs do not appear to have been factors. The restaurant has been closed for the remainder of the day but will reopen tomorrow at 11 a.m.
