Robert L. Nash, the longtime mayor of the small Cuyahoga County village of Highland Hills, died Friday night, the city confirmed Saturday afternoon.
Village Council President and now Acting Mayor Michael Booker says Nash had been battling Parkinson's Disease and other conditions "for some time" and took a leave of absence just two days before his death. The Nash family is currently asking for privacy, and any flowers and condolences are to be sent to Village Hall.
Nash had been the only mayor in Highland Hills history, taking office upon the village of just over 1,000's formal incorporation in 1990.
