SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio — South Euclid police are investigating after one person died and another was injured in two separate shootings that happened within 10 minutes of each other on Sunday.
Below are details on the two shooting incidents that happened on Sunday:
12:33 p.m. | 400 block of Okalona Road
While responding to the scene, officers found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition, but later was pronounced deceased.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has identified the victim as 31-year-old Jermaine Moore-Taylor of Euclid.
A 30-year-old Cleveland man was taken into custody at the scene, and a firearm was recovered. At this time, no charges have been filed.
The Bureau of Criminal Investigation was called to the scene to assist investigators.
12:42 p.m. | 3800 block of Salisbury Road
After receiving a report of a shooting, police responded to the scene on Salisbury Road. Upon arriving at the scene, they found a 43-year-old man with a gunshot wound. Police say first-aid was rendered until EMS arrived and transported the man to the hospital. The victim underwent surgery and is in stable condition.
South Euclid police noted that they took one man into custody at the scene and that the incident was a "dispute between parties that are all known to each other."
South Euclid police emphasized on Facebook that there is no threat to the public.
