A local youngster has been crowned as the Season 2 champion for the 9 & 10-year-old competition in American Ninja Warrior Junior.
South Euclid's Nathanael Honvou came out on top in the season finale which aired Friday evening on Universal Kids.
Nathanael was awarded the title of “American Ninja Warrior Junior” Champion for his age group and will receive $15,000. The runners up in each age bracket respectively received $7500 (2nd Place), $5000 (3rd Place) and $2500 (4th Place).
"I'm just feeling amazing," Nathanael said after his championship performance. "I came so far to do this and my Mom has taken care of me my whole life, so I dedicate this to her."
Here's how the 9 &10-year-old competition shaped out:
- 1st Place - Nathanael Honvou (South Euclid, OH)
- 2nd Place - Reeder Smith (Portland, OR)
- 3rd Place - Daniel Woods (Wellesley, MA)
- 4th Place - Owen Pham (Arlington Heights, IL)
During the season, these junior ninjas faced off on head-to-head courses alongside more than 140 kids from across the nation, including season one reigning champions and fan favorites. With guidance from their All-Star Ninja mentors, they conquered legendary American Ninja Warrior obstacles including the Shrinking and Floating Steps, the Little Dipper, Spider Walls, Double Tilt Ladders, Crazy Cliffhanger, the Block Run, Flying Squirrel, Wingnuts and Skyhooks. The season ended with a final face-off between four ninjas per age group.
