CLEVELAND — Three men are facing charges after allegedly being involved in two separate carjackings in Northeast Ohio.
The alleged incidents happened during August in Rocky River and Independence.
18-year-old Treveon Jones, 19-year-old Jaahdarion Louis-Jones and 20-year-old Rayquan Bryant are facing charges after being indicted by a Cuyahoga County grand jury.
Jones and Louis-Jones are being charged with the following:
- Two counts of Aggravated Robbery
- Three counts of Robbery
- Two counts of Felonious Assault
- One count of Grand Theft
- One count of Improperly Handling Firearms In A Motor Vehicle
- One count of Receiving Stolen Property
Jones and Bryant are being charged with the following:
- One count of Aggravated Robbery
- Three counts of Robbery
- One count of Felonious Assault
- One count of Grand Theft
- One count of Improperly Handling Firearms In A Motor Vehicle
- One count of Receiving Stolen Property
“Carjackings can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time,” said Prosecutor O’Malley. “Always remember to remain vigilant when you are at a gas station, local store, or parking lot, always be aware of your surroundings, and do not attempt to fight back against the perpetrator. We will hold these three individuals accountable for their actions.”
Below is the timeline of the alleged carjackings according to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office:
Aug. 17, 2022: Rocky River
According to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office, on Aug. 17, Jones and Louis-Jones approached a 49-year-old woman at a gas station near Center Ridge and Wagar Road in Rocky River.
The suspects allegedly "chased her, hit her in the head with a gun, kicked her multiple times, stole her purse containing her keys and wallet, and then fled the scene in her vehicle."
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and was treated for injuries following the carjacking.
Aug. 18, 2022: Independence
Jones and Bryant allegedly approached a 62-year-old man at a gas station near Brecksville and Rockside Road.
According to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's office, the two men "brandished AK-47s, verbally threatened him, stole his wallet, and then fled in his vehicle."
An initial investigation by the Rocky River Police Department and the Independence Police Department connected the three individuals together. At this time, the investigation remains ongoing.
