CLEVELAND -- Two people are dead following a fiery crash in Cleveland.

Police say it happened around 9:30 p.m. Thursday as a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu was driving well in excess of the posted 25 mph limit.

That vehicle slammed into the rear of a 2008 Hyundai Sonata at the intersection of Superior and E. 125th Street.

The Malibu then traveled left of center and collided with the front of a 2004 BMW X5, which was approaching the intersection.

The Hyundai burst into flames after striking the rear of a 2014 Chevrolet Cruz. The driver and passenger inside the Hyundai were severely burned and pronounced dead at the scene, according to Cleveland police.

Their names have not yet been released.
