WESTLAKE, Ohio — Westlake police are warning residents of a "hazard to wildlife" involving Halloween decorations.
On Facebook, the Westlake Police Department shared pictures of several deer with plastic decorative pumpkins stuck on their faces.
Police say they have responded to several calls for the dangerous Halloween decorations being stuck on wildlife.
Officers have tried to get close enough to help the deer, but "the deer, of course, want nothing to do with officers approaching them," said Westlake police.
Police are asking residents to check their yards for the hazards and "at least remove the plastic handle which tends to wrap around the deer's head causing the issue."
