What's happening in Northeast Ohio this weekend: Oct. 4-6

We have dinosaurs in town, lots of opportunities to eat and drink, and a chance to save the animals, plus a local makes her directorial debut.

CLEVELAND — Northeast Ohio is buzzing with exciting events taking place this weekend.

Prehistoric "creatures" are visiting our fair city in the Jurassic World Live Tour at the newly renovated Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, a special event kicks of the nationally celebrated Italian Heritage Month, and Cleveland native Yvette Nicole Brown makes her directorial debut in theatres.

Jurassic World Live Tour

What:  This amazing shows features more than 24 film-accurate, life sized dinosaurs, each custom built with the latest technology, scientific precision and Hollywood studio quality. Tickets are $15 each. You can use code BLUE here to save up to $10 on tickets for the entire family to the show.

Where: Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse at 1 Center Court in Cleveland

When: Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The Clam Bark

What: This clam bake serves as a fundraiser for the only truly no-kill animal shelter in Northeast Ohio, the Northeast Ohio SPCA. 3News’ Danielle Serino will be on hand at the Clam Bark serving as the emcee and auctioneer, and there are a ton of great prizes up for grabs.

Where: Bratenahl Village Park in Bratenahl

When: Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m

Food Truck Challenge

What: Our very own Austin Love will be judging the best of the best among 25 local food trucks, mixed in with live music and an awards ceremony. You can cast your vote, too, to pick the winners of the awards for fan’s best overall, best looking truck, and friendliest truck.

Where: Crocker Park, on South Main Street at 189 Crocker Park Boulevard in Westlake

When: Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Ciao! Cleveland

What: This free event kicks off Italian Heritage Month in Northeast Ohio, which is celebrated around the country. The day will feature wine tastings, cooking demonstrations, fashion, art, adult beverages, coffee, music and tons of food.

Where: The Flats East Bank in Cleveland

When: Saturday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Mitchell’s Ice Cream 20th Birthday Celebration

What: Mitchell’s Ice Cream will celebrate its 20th birthday on Sunday. To get the party started, Single Scoops will be available for $1.65 for the day – which was the original price of a Single Scoop in 1999 when the ice cream joint opened its first shop in Westlake. A commemorative sticker will be given to guests at every shop while supplies last. Novelty magnets will also be available for purchase. Guests can enjoy Birthday Cake ice cream and a Birthday Cake Sundae throughout the month of October.

When: Special prices are available all day Sunday, during open hours at all locations. From Friday through Sunday, Mitchell’s Ice Cream is partnering with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio to celebrate their mission by giving guests the option to make a $1.00 donation to the food banks in all shops.

DeBord’s 24th annual Halloween Festival

What: This is a FREE admission family friendly community festival open to the public. Guests are encouraged to come in costume and enjoy the Trick or Treat and free entertainment! You may want to bring some extra cash because there will be plenty of vendors selling delicious treats and unique items.

Where: Oregon Trail Park at 2905 Graham Road in Stow

When: Saturday from 12-9 p.m. Trick or Treat for kids starts at 12 p.m. and runs until vendors run out of candy.

Screenings of “Always a Bridesmaid”

What: Cleveland native Yevette Nicole Brown’s movie will be in theaters this weekend! She is known for her role most recently in “Lady and the Tramp,” being on the show the “Real,“ as well as in “The Avengers” and “Talking Dead.” Her movie, “Always a Bridesmaid,” marks her directorial debut.

The Shanerock Run

What: In 2010, Shane Haddad was diagnosed with brain cancer. Shane’s parents, Amy and Eric Haddad, understand the challenges that families face when you have a child with cancer. With this thought in mind, Eric and Amy created Shanerock, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Shanerock focuses on supporting local families who are battling pediatric cancer and other non-profits who support the fight against pediatric cancer. This year marks the 4th annual Shanerock Run, a 5K run and/or 1 mile walk.

Where: Saint Ignatius High School at 1911 West 30th Street in Cleveland

When: Sunday starting at 9 a.m.

St Stan's Polish Festival

What: This celebration of Polish heritage will include food, Polka bands and dancing.

Where: St. Stanislaus Church at 3649 E 65th Street in Cleveland

When: Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Ohio Mart

What: The 53rd annual Ohio Mart is Stan Hywet’s annual artisan showcase and a major fundraiser for the estate, presented by the Auxiliary Board of Stan Hywet. Hundreds of artisans and craftsmen will be selling their wares from fine art to photography on the grounds of the Seiberling family home. Tickets for adults are $10, kids ages 6-17 are $4 and children 5 and under get in free. You can get your tickets here.

When: Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. (closes at 4 p.m. on Sunday)

Light The Night Walk

What: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk exists to find cures and ensure access to the best available treatments for all blood cancer patients. Teams work together to achieve a collective fundraising goal. You can join an existing team, create a new one with friends and family, or fundraise on your own. Get started by clicking here.

Chagrin Documentary Film Festival

What: This is the 10th year for the festival, which will screen 83 films, from 37 countries, at venues in and around Chagrin Falls.
