Fugitive caught by U.S. Marshals for aggravated burglary

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force caught James Cummings, wanted for aggravated robbery in Lakewood.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force caught James Cummings early Tuesday morning, wanted for aggravated robbery in Lakewood.

The U.S. Marshals said his arrest was a direct result of a tip being called into the tipline from an individual who had seen the news release on Monday.

Cummings, 34, was wanted in connection with a June incident where he allegedly forced his way into the home of an elderly man in Lakewood and assaulted him.

He allegedly beat the man until he told Cummings where several thousands of dollars in cash was hidden.

Cummings' last known address was the 3100 block of West 86th Street.

ames Cummings, who was run as yesterday’s Fugitive of the Week, was captured early this morning by the NOVFTF. The arrest of Cummings was a direct result of a tip being called into the tip line from an individual who had seen the news release.
