'Don't believe everything you read on the internet': Geauga County Sheriff's Office says CCW holders can carry weapons while wearing masks

It is not illegal for someone with a concealed carry license to carry a gun while wearing a mask.

GEAUGA COUNTY, Ohio — As communities around the state of Ohio are issuing mask requirements to its residents, one local law enforcement agency has taken to social media to dispel any myths about face coverings and carring weapons.

"We have received several calls about a rumor that has been floating around on social media that if you have a Concealed Carry License (CCW) that you cannot carry a weapon while wearing a mask," the Geauga County Sheriff's Office wrote on its Facebook page.

Geauga County Sheriff Scott Hildenbrand wants to let everyone know that it is not illegal for a valid CCW holder to carry your weapon while wearing a mask.

"We hope this clears up these rumors for many of you. Don’t believe everything you read on the internet," the post concludes.
