GEAUGA COUNTY, Ohio — Newbury Township firefighters were called to a barn fire around 6 a.m. Wednesday,.
When crews arrived, the 200-year-old barn near State Routes 44 and 87 was engulfed in flames. Mutual aid was called for other local departments to assist.
Fire officials believe the fire started in the chicken coop. Some chickens in the coop died from the effects of the blaze.
No people were injured.
