CHESTERLAND, Ohio — Chesterland police and the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a pedestrian fatality involving a UPS worker.
Chesterland Police Chief Mark Purchase says a UPS driver was stopped on Mayfield Road just east of Manchester Road on Thursday. As the UPS driver was exited his truck to make a delivery, a car attempted to go around him when he was struck.
The driver of the car was traveling westbound on Mayfield Road.
The UPS delivery worker, identified as 28-year-old Collin Joseph Boothe of Lake County, was taken to Hillcrest Hospital where he died in surgery late Thursday night.
