BEDFORD HEIGHTS, Ohio — Sherwin-Williams has announced that it will be closing its Bedford Heights manufacturing facility.
The facility, located on Fargo Avenue, will be ceasing all operations on June 30, according to a WARN notice.
The company also estimates that all job separations will be completed by Aug. 31.
In the letter, Sherwin-Williams estimates that 51 employees will "permanently lose their current positions in conjunction with the Bedford Facility's closure."
Sherwin-Williams Vice President of Global Corporate Communications, Julie Young, provided the following statement about the closing of its Bedford Heights manufacturing facility below:
"Based on a comprehensive review of the Sherwin-Williams aerosol business, the Company made the decision to cease operations at its Bedford Heights facility by the end of the second quarter. With the reduced volume and corresponding reduction in capacity utilization, it no longer makes good business sense to continue operations at this site. Any remaining specialty products business will transfer to other Sherwin-Williams facilities. This was not an easy decision to make and is not a reflection on the performance of the facility employees. Sherwin-Williams is committed to working with the Bedford Heights employees during this transition."
