Taking to his official Facebook page on Monday afternoon, Governor Mike DeWine called for flags at all of Ohio's state-owned buildings to be flown at half staff in remembrance of the victims.
"In honor of the lives of those killed and injured and those whose lives were forever altered by the tragedy of May 4, 1970, at Kent State University, Governor DeWine ordered that all United States and Ohio flags be flown at half-staff upon all state-owned buildings throughout the state and at the Ohio Statehouse, Vern Riffe Center, and Rhodes Tower, at 12:24 PM until sunset," the post reads.
In addition to his order, DeWine began his daily press briefing to address the coronavirus (COVID-19) with a moment of silence on Monday.
