Congratulations to Amanda Sopczak of Mentor, the winner of the 23rd Lake County YMCA Dream House located at 7711 Jo Ann Drive in Concord.
She's a teacher in the Painesville City Local schools.
In addition, Chris Doering of Fairview Park, won the 2016 Chevy Malibu from Classic Chevrolet.
“This was incredibly exciting to win today. I have a lot to consider,” Sopczak said.
It is not yet decided if she will take the 2016 Dream House and its furnishings or choose the $250,000 cash prize, according to the news release.
John McCurdy, of Classic Chevrolet of Mentor, assisted participants in the drawing for the 2016 Chevy Malibu.
“On behalf of our owner, Jim Brown Jr, and CFO Larry Villines, we’re pleased to be involved with the YMCA Dream House for the third year with a car give-away. The 2016 Chevy Malibu won today is valued at nearly $20,000," said John McCurdy, in the news release.
“We especially want to thank our major sponsors for a successful 2016 Dream House, including Dawson Homes, The Chevy Network/Classic Chevrolet, WKYC-TV3, Levin Furniture, and Danny Vegh's,” said Scott Taylor, Lake County YMCA Chief Advancement Officer.
“It is not yet determined how proceeds from the 2016 Dream House will be used for facility and equipment enhancements, but each of the Lake County YMCA branches are beginning to determine what renovations they would like to make and new equipment that would best meet the needs of their members,” added Taylor, in the release.
Since 1993, proceeds from the Dream House project have exceeded $4 million (approximately $200,000 per year) for program and facility enhancements that allow the Y to engage children, families and seniors in diverse programs at each Lake County YMCA branch (Central Y-Painesville, West End Y-Willoughby, East End Y-Madison, and the Outdoor Family Center).
