MADISON, Ohio — Some residents in Madison Township have gotten a visit from an unexpected guest.
A black bear has made its way into the backyards of several homes in the area. "We advise not to approach the bear, to take your bird feeders in and keep your trash secure. If the bear becomes stuck or trapped, please contact the police department," the Madison Township Police Department advises.
Tina Hilston Dobb of Madison Township provided pictures and videos of the bear to 3News.
3News reached out to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife. "It is certainly that time of year when males are starting to search for females, which also means bears showing up in areas where we typically don't see them," says Laurie Brown, a wildlife research technician with ODNR Division of Wildlife.
