KIRTLAND, Ohio — The Penitentiary Glen Reservation in Kirtland is offering a festive, family-friendly experience this holiday season with a unique twist on the classic Candy Land game.
Candy Land: It's Wild in Ohio! is running until Jan. 1, 2025. the event invites visitors to explore Ohio’s wildlife in a colorful and interactive way.
“This is a much-loved holiday tradition, and we see families come back year after year to enjoy the exhibit,” says Lake Metroparks Deputy Chief of Outdoor Connections Caitlin Ambrose. “This year, we’re excited to expand the theme to feature different types of animals rather than just birds, as we’ve done in years past. We hope visitors will leave with a newfound excitement for the many unique and colorful species we have in Ohio.”
The indoor experience includes themed crafts, scavenger hunts and hands-on exhibits that highlight the state’s natural wonders.
Guests can also shop for nature-inspired gifts at The Nature Store and enjoy hot chocolate at the Snowshoe Lodge.
Admission is free, and no registration is required for the event. The event runs daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Penitentiary Glen Reservation is located at 8668 Kirtland-Chardon Road in Kirtland.
