Family identifies woman killed in Willoughby Hills crash

According to her family, 32-year-old Skye Brown was killed in the crash

WILLOUGHBY HILLS, Ohio — The Willoughby Hills Police Department is investigating a fatal two-car crash that occurred early Sunday morning. 

An alleged wrong-way driver in a 2013 gray Nissan Altima crashed into a 2016 white Mazda CX-5 on the I-271 Northbound bridge to I-90 West. Officials responded to the scene around 3:15 a.m. 

The driver of the alleged wrong-way car has been identified as 23-year-old Donnell Furguson, of Cleveland.

Prior to the crash, several departments received calls for a wrong-way driver, but officials were unable to locate the vehicle.

The Mazda was occupied by three woman ages 56, 39 and 32, as well as two children ages nine and 11. All of them were from Euclid.

According to her family, 32-year-old Skye Brown was killed in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene. 

Everyone else involved in the crash was transported to Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield. The family says the two children are shaken up but are otherwise OK, while the driver and surviving adult passenger both suffered injuries requiring surgery.

The highway was closed for approximately four hours following the crash.
