The Mentor Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured two people early Friday morning.
Officials responded to a residence in the 1800 block of Puritan Drive just after 5: 30 a.m. for reports of gunfire.
At the scene, officers found a 27-year-old man Black man and a 23-year-old white woman suffering gunshot wounds to their lower bodies. The injures were not life-threatening so they were transported by Mentor Fire to Hillcrest hospital for treatment.
Both victims were inside the residence at the time the shooting and police believe it was a targeted incident.
The shooting remains under investigation.
