MENTOR, Ohio — A Mentor women is being questioned by police after she allegedly set fire to her own home on Wednesday.
Around 11:45 a.m., dispatch received a call from a women who said her mother told her that she has set her home on fire and left.
Officials responded to a home in the 7100 Block of Culver Blvd. and found the home engulfed in flames.
Several crews from the Mentor Fire Department were assisted by Mentor-on-the-Lake, Willoughby, Fairport Harbor, and Wickliffe to help extinguish the blaze.
One firefighter was transported to the hospital for evaluation. There is no word on his condition at this time. No other injuries were reported and neighboring homes did not suffer any damage.
The women, who alleged started the fire, was located by Willowick Police driving in their jurisdiction. She was later turned over to the Mentor Police Department for questions. No official charges have been filed at this time.
