WILLOWICK, Ohio -- Authorities are searching for the person who opened fire and killed a man at the Willowick Café early Friday morning.
The Willowick Police Department says surveillance video shows the unknown shooter entering the café shortly after 1 a.m. through a rear side door. The shooter went directly up to the victim and shot him three times before fleeing the scene.
“It appears the victim was sought out by the shooter, and there was no previous altercation or interaction between the shooter and the victim,” police say.
The suspect remains on the loose. There are currently no details available regarding the shooter’s age, race or gender.
Authorities have not released any additional information on the victim, either.
Numerous other patrons were in the area when the shooting took place, but all fled prior to officers arriving.
The Bureau of Criminal Investigation is assisting at the crime scene, which is located in the 28800 block of Lakeshore Boulevard.
