Shots fired in parking lot at Pine Ridge Apartments in Willoughby Hills during 'isolated incident'

WILLOUGHBY HILLS, Ohio — A 24-year-old man is in custody after shots were fired into a vehicle during a domestic dispute in Willoughby Hills at the Pine Ridge Apartments.

Willoughby Hills Police responded to 2269 Par Lane after receiving reports of a domestic disturbance at the apartment complex. 911 calls included reports of shots being fired in the parking lot at a vehicle.

According to the Willoughby Hills Police, the incident occurred after an argument between a 24-year-old woman and the suspect broke out. 

When the victim attempted to drive away with her 4-year-old daughter, the suspect allegedly fired shots into the passenger compartment of her vehicle. 

After learning of the suspect's vehicle, officers stopped the involved vehicle and arrested the suspect. Officers also found a firearm in the vehicle.

Police officials confirmed that this was an "isolated incident" and that there is no threat to the public at this time. 

The suspect is currently being held at the Lake County Jail.
