MENTOR, Ohio — It was one year ago today that Mentor Police Officer Mathew Mazany was struck and killed in the line of duty.
Mazany was assisting another officer during a traffic stop on Route 2, when 25-year-old Brian Anthony hit him and drove off.
“It’s tough, we’re healing, we’re continuing to heal and we keep moving forward,” explains Mentor Police Chief, Ken Gunsch.
“That’s our whole goal but at the same time we’re not going to forget Matt."
