WILLOUGHBY, Ohio — An 18-year-old man from Mentor has died following a weekend crash involving a motorcycle.
Willoughby police say it was shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday when officers responded to the scene on Route 640 (Vine Street) between Skiff Street and Ben Hur Avenue.
“The initial investigation and interviews with witnesses indicated that a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling westbound on Vine Street when it struck the curb before leaving the roadway,” according to a press release issued Monday from Willoughby police. “The operator was ejected from the motorcycle.”
The motorcyclist was then taken to the hospital where he later died. His name was not released.
Police are asking for anybody who may have witnessed the incident to call the Willoughby Detective Bureau at 440-953-4210.
No additional details were immediately available.
