Exciting news, nature lovers!
The Lake Metroparks has announced that it will reopen the Farmpark this coming Friday, March 5, after being closed to the public for almost three months.
"Lake Metroparks Farmpark is pleased to announce the reopening of the park on Friday, March 5," the Metroparks says on its website. "The park will be open 9 am to 5 pm Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays."
The Farmpark says that purchasing tickets or reservations in advance is not required at this time.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine issued a statewide facial coverings order effective July 23, 2020 at 6 pm. Per this order, visitors ages ten and older are required to wear masks when indoors. This applies to any indoor space at Farmpark, including as guests pass through the Visitor Center upon entering and while utilizing any of the restrooms throughout Farmpark. Also, masks are required when riding in a people mover wagons," the Metroparks said. "Thank you in advance for helping us keep your parks open and operating in a safe and healthy manner."
This will be the first time that the Farmparks has opened to the public since November of last year, when the state saw rising COVID-19 case numbers.
Currently, Ohio has seen a major decrease in new case numbers, hospitalizations and deaths, which Gov. DeWine credits to mask-wearing and social distancing.
