2 dead after Avon Lake house fire Sunday morning

As firefighters made their way into the house to continue to extinguish the fire, they found two human victims and a dog deceased.

AVON LAKE, Ohio — Two unidentified victims were found dead in a residence in Avon Lake Sunday morning after a house fire.

At approximately 7:21 a.m., the Avon Lake Fire Department responded to a fire on the 33000 block of Redwood Boulevard.

Heavy smoke appeared on the east side of the house upon arrival. As firefighters made their way into the house to continue to extinguish the fire, they found two human victims and a dog deceased.

While working on the fires, the crews found the structure to be partially collapsed making it difficult to progress through the house.

The identities of the two dead are not currently being released until proper identification can be made.

No injuries to firefighters occurred during the incident.

According to the Avon Lake Fire Department, no known cause or origin has been identified at this time.

The fire remains under investigation.
