Avon Electric Orchestra shares sweet performance of 'Sweet Child o' Mine'

A group of young people from Avon is the latest local group to share their talents with others during this global pandemic.

AVON, Ohio — For centuries, music has served as a source of refuge for people going through difficult times. 

Going into week five of Gov. DeWine's stay-at-home order and creatives are finding ways to stay connected and share their talents with the masses. 

A group of young people from Avon is the latest local group to share their talents with others during this global pandemic. 

The Avon Electric Orchestra recently released a virtual rendition of " Sweet Child O'Mine" on their YouTube. 

The ensemble is made up of high schools students " who combine classic string orchestra with rock and rhythm to bring a new flare to old favorites," according to their YouTube page. 

Jesse Martin, the orchestra's director wanted the high-schoolers to perform together to life people's spirits. According to Martin, the kids have been " strong and have been an inspiration" during this difficult time.
