SHEFFIELD, Ohio — Editor's Note: The above video features previous reporting about this story
On Wednesday night, Lindsey Boyer received a package from Candlelite Bridal. When she opened it, she found her wedding dress inside.
The student teacher, whose wedding is in June, told 3News she is “so excited” to have received her dress.
On Sunday, Boyer had a moment of panic when she went to schedule her alterations appointment, only to find Candlelite Bridal in Sheffield had closed its doors without any notice.
Boyer, of Clyde, bought the dress off the rack from Candlelite Bridal in April, paying in full with cash. The shop held onto her dress for her ahead of her alterations appointment.
Boyer and her mother tried to call the shop’s phone number, but found it was disconnected. From there, she said she reached out to the shop’s owner and his wife via social media, text, call, and email, but all of her efforts went unanswered. She also said she had messaged the Facebook page of the shop and saw her message had been read, but no one had replied. When she went back to revisit the page a few hours later, the page was gone.
On Monday, Boyer shared her story with 3News. The 3News team began following up, and similarly could not reach anyone from the shop. About 30 minutes after 3News knocked on the door of the shop owner, Boyer received a text from him, saying he would drop off her dress. After our story aired in “What’s New” Monday night, 3News’ Isabel Lawrence also heard from the shop owner, who said they have contacted the bride and will be delivering her gown.
On Wednesday, the bride-to-be got her happy ending when she received her dress in a package in the mail. You can see her reaction in the video below:
