ELYRIA, Ohio — A new project set to begin in Elyria is slated to bring over 100 full time jobs to the area.
According to a release sent by State Rep. Gayle Manning’s office, Invacare will be expanding. The company that manufactures and distributes medical devices is expected to bring 150 new jobs to the area with their new expansion project.
“It is exciting to see another project that will be a job creator and drive economic development in Lorain County,” said Manning. “It’s an honor to serve an area that can bring in bright and innovative businesses for the betterment of our community.”
This is not the first job announcement for Lorain County. Back in August Manning’s office announced that Carvana would be expanding. Plans are in the works for the online car company to build a facility in Lorain County. That initiative, according to Manning’s office will bring close to 400 jobs to the area.
Today’s latest announcement part of a group of projects approved by The Ohio Tax Credit Authority. According to Manning’s office, assistance for nine other projects were also approved. The state says these projects will create 1,700 new jobs and help to retain over 900 hundred jobs across Ohio. The projects are also expected to result in more than $87 million in new payroll and spur more than $1.5 billion in investments across Ohio.
