ELYRIA, Ohio — Multiple fire departments battled a blaze at a home on Hammer Court in Elyria late Thursday night.
Fire officials say it was around 9:30 p.m. when Elyria firefighters first responded to the scene.
“First arriving crews found heavy fire conditions on the first floor quickly extending throughout to the second floor and attic,” fire officials said in a press release.
Additional fire crews from Sheffield Village and Lorain responded to the scene to assist in extinguishing the flames.
“The home’s construction features caused some issues and firefighters had to find hidden fire racing through the walls,” officials continued.
The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes of arrival.
The home sustained heavy damage with the loss estimated to be around $200,000.
Nobody was hurt.
Officials say the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
