COLUMBIA STATION, Ohio — Crews were called to a fire at the Columbia Ballroom on Royalton Road in Columbia Station Saturday afternoon.
Smoke could be seen coming from the roof of the historic building, which has hosted many weddings over the years but was undergoing renovations at the time of the fire.
According to Columbia Township Fire Chief Ray Anthony, the owner of Columbia Ballroom was doing some soddering work in the building and some of the sodder got into the insulation.
"It appears that it started in the attic area and ran across the whole entire part of high part of the building," Anthony told 3News.
It took about an hour to get the fire under control. No one was injured.
