Larkmoor Elementary School in Lorain vandalized over weekend, district says; classes to start as scheduled on Tuesday

'The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority,' school officials said.

LORAIN, Ohio — A police investigation is currently underway in Lorain after Larkmoor Elementary School was vandalized over the weekend.

3News cameras noticed several boarded up windows and broken glass at the building on Nebraska Avenue. No arrests have been made at this time.

District officials say classes will resume as scheduled on Tuesday, with it being the first day of school. However, "additional security measures across all our schools" will be in place.

"The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority," the district said. "We appreciate your support and understanding during this time."
