Mother of missing Lorain County woman pleads for answers as search for Desiree Long continues

Anyone with information on Desiree Long is asked to contact the Lorain Police Department at 440-204-2105.

LORAIN COUNTY, Ohio — A mother in Lorain is pleading for answers over a month after her daughter, Desiree Long, went missing.

According to the Lorain Police Department, the 33-year-old was last seen on Oct. 9. Officials say that the circumstances surrounding her disappearance are unknown.

Police noted that multiple sources told officials she was in Cleveland and possibly using a rideshare service to return to Lorain before she was reported missing.

Over the weekend, family, friends and strangers organized a search party at Lorain High School to look for Desiree in the Avon and Cleveland areas.

Desiree's mother says she doesn't know what to tell her missing daughter's children as they continue the search.

"They miss their mom. They want their mom, and that's the sad part about it," said Michelle Long. "I haven't stopped, and I'm not going to stop until they bring Desiree home."

Her family is offering a $10,000 reward to find Desiree. At this time, Lorain police are continuing to investigate.

Anyone with information on Desiree is asked to contact the Lorain Police Department at 440-204-2105.
