NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio — Authorities are holding an OVI checkpoint late Friday evening in the city of North Ridgeville.

The checkpoint will take place on Center Ridge Road from 7-10 p.m., according to the Lorain County OVI Task Force.

The OVI checkpoint will be comprised of officers from Sheffield Village and North Ridgeville.

“In 2019, there have been six OVI-related fatal crashes,” the North Ridgeville Police Department said in a press release. “If you plan to consume alcohol, designate a driver or make other arrangements before you drink. Don’t let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired.”

Solon police are also conduting a checkpoint Friday at SOM Center Road between Inwood and Arthur roads.
