AVON LAKE, OH -- Avon Lake Police are investigating after they were made aware of rumors about two students threatening violence at Avon Lake High School.
Avon Lake Police tell WKYC that they plan to have an increased presence at the high school throughout the night as well as during school hours tomorrow Thursday.
The main concern by both police and the school district is "ensure the safety of the students."
Police were made aware of the threats by a a resource officer at the school around 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Currently, there is no source of the rumors but police have been talking to students Wednesday night and will continue speaking with them Thursday to determine where the threats came from.
No specific threats have been made and no witnesses have first-hand knowledge of what was exactly was said yet.
