Officers saw a vehicle matching the description of one involved in the incident at the Marathon on East Ave. The officers apparently told both occupants to come out with their hands up when one instead pointed a gun at the officers, prompting police to open fire.

Both suspects, 39, were taken to local hospitals. Isaiah Robinson (right in the below photo) later died from his injuries, while Damon Battles (left) is still undergoing treatment and his exact condition is unknown.

Elyria Police identified the two officers who fired shots as Patrolmen Charles McArthur and Alan Kubas. Both are on paid administrative leave per department policy.

The incident remains under investigation, as well as the alleged shooting on Park Meadow Lane. No dash or body cam video from the Elyria Police Department is apparently available.
