VERMILION, Ohio — Plans will be unveiled at 11 a.m. Tuesday for new construction and revitalization at Vermilion’s Main Street Beach.
“The construction will begin this month without disrupting beach access and will continue through the fall,” officials said in a press release Monday.
While the full plans have not yet been officially revealed, here’s what we do know will be included with the changes coming to Vermilion’s Main Street Beach:
- New comfort station
- Kayak / canoe launch
- Improved parking
- Sidewalk upgrades
- Landscaping and improved safety measures
Each of those elements is expected to be ready by next spring.
The City of Vermilion and its partner Western Reserve Land Conservancy will offer more details during the Tuesday press conference. Some local small business owners will also be on hand “to discuss the details of the revitalization project and what it will mean for the local community and economy.”

- Andy McDowell, Vice President at Western Reserve Land Conservancy
- Marc Weisenberger, Parks Supervisor, Vermilion Parks & Recreation Department
- Melissa Price, Deputy Director, Erie MetroParks
- Micah Roberts, Owner, Erie and Anchor
