CLEVELAND — On Monday’s Lunch Break with Jay Crawford, we chewed over ways to save money while still getting something for everyone on your holiday shopping list.
Rachel Krych, the founder of Couponing with Rachel, stopped by the studio to teach us three ways to keep more of our hard-earned money in the bank.
Tip #1: Grab Black Friday Deals Now
Many stores offer early Black Friday pricing, like Best Buy, Kohl's and Target, which have already done so.
One popular item, the Cuddl Duds throw, is actually cheaper today than on Black Friday, according to Rachel's website.
But for those of us with fear of missing out by shopping too soon, Rachel recommends saving receipts to you can return your purchases if the price does happen to drop.
And as a bonus, by taking advantage of their deals early, you can also avoid the crowds.
Tip #2: Look For and Stack Coupon Codes
As much as we all hate to clog our inbox and feeds, signing up for emails and following social media pages can lead to big savings, Rachel said.
You can keep up with coupon codes on Rachel's site, like on this post where she keeps tabs on all of the current Kohl's coupon codes.
Tip #3: Don't Forget The Drug Stores
Stores like CVS offer amazing freebies during the week of Thanksgiving, Rachel said. You can use these items as gifts or stocking stuffers.
For example, from November 28-30, is offering a 3-month XBox Game pass for $29.99, and when you buy it you'll get back $20 Extra Bucks, which works just like cash you can spend in the store.
The drug store is also offering a 23 & Me DNA Kit for $29.99 during that same time, but you'll get back the full purchase price of $29.99 in Extra Bucks, which makes it a freebie.
