The great Halloween debate: Full-Size vs. Fun-Size Candy Bars

The Halloween treats you hand out can also give people a clue about your character, such as your level of generosity.

CLEVELAND — On Tuesday’s Lunch Break with Jay Crawford, Jay and 3News’ Maureen Kyle chewed on what the treats you give out on Halloween say about you.

Behavior economists say the choice to give out full-size candy is all about keeping up with the Joneses, because no one wants to look cheap, according to Fortune.

In addition to that, the Halloween treats you hand out can also give people a clue about your character, such as your level of generosity.

However, for those who opt to go with bite-size snacks often feel pressured to give out more than one treat per child. Even so, 85% of households still prefer to give out smaller Halloween candy sizes. For trick-or-treaters, that means 15% of houses are giving out full-size candy.
