Ohio judge, wife indicted on felony charges in connection with hit-and-run crash

Under Ohio Revised Code, Jason Warner will not be eligible to serve as a judge as a convicted felon.

A Marion County Common Pleas Judge and his wife have been sentenced to two years in prison for injuring a 19-year-old man in a hit-and-run crash from June 2020.

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced that Judge Jason Warner and his wife Julia were found guilty of multiple charge, including complicity to tampering with evidence.

According to a crash report, the couple was driving shortly after midnight on June 4 in the area of Somerlot Hoffman Road in Marion when they failed to yield while turning and hit another vehicle. The other vehicle then hit a utility pole.

The couple then fled the scene of the crash, according to the crash report.

According to the Marion Star, Julia was driving the vehicle and reported the incident to authorities about nine hours after the crash happened.

According to the indictment, the couple knew someone was seriously injured in the crash when they left the scene.

Under Ohio Revised Code, Jason will not be eligible to serve as a judge as a convicted felon.

The crash was investigated by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Ohio Attorney General's Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
