MEDINA COUNTY, Ohio — A 46-year-old Akron man has died following an early morning crash in Granger Township.
Authorities say the accident happened around 1:17 a.m. Monday when William Lagrand was driving a 2005 Nissan Titan pickup truck eastbound on Route 18 near Windfall Road.
“The Nissan drove left of center and drove off the left side of the roadway,” troopers with the Medina Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol said in a press release. “The Nissan struck a utility pole and a tree.”
Lagrand was pronounced dead on scene.
Authorities say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash. He was also wearing his seat belt at the time.
The incident remains under investigation.
