HINCKLEY, Ohio — An investigation is underway after two people from North Ridgeville -- identified as 42-year-old Rocky Iammarino and 38-year-old Rachel Iammarino -- were killed in a motorcycle crash in Hinckley Township last week.
In details released Tuesday morning, the Medina Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says the crash happened back on Oct. 11 at 6:17 p.m. on Route 303 near State Road.
“The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling eastbound when it went left of center to pass a 2019 Dodge Ram pickup truck and a 2018 Freightliner commercial vehicle,” according to the Highway Patrol. “The Harley Davidson then struck a westbound 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee head-on.”
Authorities say Rocky and Rachel (his passenger) were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Jeep, who was identified as a 43-year-old woman from Brunswick, was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says they were assisted at the scene by multiple agencies from Hinckley, Richfield and Granger.
