Elastic on your mask hurting the back of your ears? How one local girl and her mom found a solution that costs $1

If you’re lucky, it might even be something you already have around the house.

MEDINA, Ohio — Wearing a mask is already uncomfortable. It’s hard to talk, and visually speaking, it just reminds you of the crazy time we’re living in. Even worse, some people are now experiencing sharp pain behind their ears caused by elastic rubber bands.

That is why one local mom and daughter came up with a new and creative way to keep the back of your ears unharmed while wearing a mask.

Olivia Bruckman, a 4th grader from Medina, and her mom Jenna say that they were wandering the aisles of the dollar tree trying to find a creative solution to the ear problem, when they came across hair bands with plastic marbles on the end.

Here’s how it works.

All you have to do is take the hair tie, pull one marble though the first ear loop, and repeat the same process on the other side. If the mask is too loose, you can also tie the marbles together to make them tighter. It really is that easy.

You can find the hair bands at Walmart, Target, The Dollar Tree.
