CLEVELAND — A Medina man is in custody after allegedly stabbing a man at a high school graduation party on Saturday evening, police said.
Antonio Darnell Watkins, 33, has been charged with felonious assault, according to a social media post from the Medina Police Department.
The incident happened just before 8 p.m. at the clubhouse at Falling Oaks Pool on Guilford Boulevard in Medina.
Police say a pedestrian "got into an altercation" with some of the partygoers, "resulting in the stabbing of a 36-year-old male." Police responded to the scene and found the victim, who was transported to a hospital by the Medina Life Support Team.
According to police, officers recovered a knife at the scene and determined that the suspect had allegedly fled before they got there and could not be found in the immediate area. A detective investigation identified Watkins as the suspect.
Watkins was found at a residence in Lakewood "later that evening," police said, and taken into custody. He was taken to the Medina County Jail. Watkins may face more charges after his case is presented to the Medina County Grand Jury.
Police did not release any information about the victim's current condition.
