There is a mystery in Wadsworth, where a 98-year-old woman was first reported missing, only to be found dead in her home on Portage Street.
It is not clear how the woman died or who may be responsible.
Police had asked for the public’s help after they were called to the home of Margaret Douglas, 98, on a welfare check and found nothing there.
When they returned for a second sweep, they discovered her body in what they would only describe as “a hidden location.”
That was it. Despite repeated questions from reporters, no further details were released.
Relatives say Douglas was a widow who lived alone and never had kids. A nephew in Canton kept an eye on her.
Neighbors did, too, since she did not drive. None noticed anything unusual at the home.
Police say April 5th was the last day Douglas was seen alive.
Her body has been taken to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office and BCI is investigating.
Wadsworth Police said there were no obvious signs of foul play. The home showed no signs of forced entry.
