ROOTSTOWN, Ohio — 3News' Monica Robins is adding another incredible experience to her resume.
Robins will moderate Northeast Ohio Medical University's (NEOMED) new leadership series, which aims to inspire future medical professionals and discuss the issues facing the medical community right now.
The series, “VITALS: Visionary Health Leadership in Action,” will feature a "diverse range of innovative leaders in the medical sector," to discuss the future of medicine, and how the field is constantly changing.
"VITALS," stands for the six components that NEOMED stands by: value-based, innovation, technology, advocacy, leadership and service.
The first event will be held Thursday, Oct. 1 via Zoom Video Webinar. Robins will host the first discussion from 5:00-6:00 p.m. eastern.
According to a press release from NEOMED, "each speaker will have 17 minutes ― the same length of time of the average physician-patient visit — to offer disruptive solutions to health care’s biggest problems."
Speakers will come from all walks of life and will include students, professors, medical-professionals.
“The VITALS speaker series was designed to enliven the discourse, scholarship and actions surrounding health care transformation by showcasing the wisdom and experience of innovative leaders in the medical sector,” said Steven Schmidt, Ph.D., vice president for research and dean of the College of Graduate Studies. “We want thought leaders to engage health care professionals to bring positive change to health outcomes now.”
