Things are going quiet at one local restaurant and bar due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
On Monday morning, Music Box Supper Club-- located on the Flats West Bank-- announced that they will temporarily halt concerts and shows for the remainder of 2020 due to the rise in COVID-19 cases in the area.
"We have decided to take a pause in presenting concerts at least through the end of the year. It’s the right decision for the safety of our staff and customers, said Mike Miller of Music Box. "We feel it’s important that everyone honor the stay-at-home advisory issued by the City of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County in order to reduce the number of COVID cases raging across our region. Our health care workers across the region are fighting this virus with superhuman effort, and we need to do what we can to reduce their workload."
The decision comes as COVID-19 cases within the state continue to skyrocket, setting new daily records consistently. Northeast Ohio continues to remain a place of high incidence, with most counties in the red (level three) and several in purple (level four) or on the watch list for this stage.
"The pandemic has delivered a blow to live music venues. Thankfully, because of our circumstances and private event bookings, Music Box remains rock solid. We just celebrated our 6th anniversary and look forward to many more," said Miller in an email to 3News. "Live music lifts the spirits, and embodies the best of what a community can enjoy, together, as a group. And we promise we will get back to it just as soon as we can!"
