CLARK COUNTY, Wisconsin — Nine people were killed in a crash Friday when a van and a semitrailer collided at an intersection in western Wisconsin.
The crash occurred just before 11:30 a.m. when a semitrailer on State Highway 95 collided with a van traveling on County Highway J in Dewhurst Township, according to the Clark County Sheriff's Office.
In a press release, the sheriff's department said the semi driver and eight people in the van were killed. One passenger in the van was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated, however, it's unclear the extent of their injuries.
“Our hearts and prayers go out to the families and loved ones of all those involved, as well as the first responders who worked quickly to provide support at the scene,” Gov. Tony Evers posted on X.
Officials are not releasing the names of the victims, but said none of the people involved were from Clark County.
